Alkaline Batteries

General Information

Alkaline Battery designation is due to the alkaline electrolyte: potassium hydroxide (KOH) that is used for this kind of batteries, also commonly known as Nickel-Cadmium, Nickel-Alkaline or NiCd batteries, are a kind of rechargeable battery that uses nickel oxide hydroxide and metallic cadmium as electrodes. Industrial Ni-Cd batteries are made in a wide range of sizes and capacities, from 5Ah to 1200Ah for all imaginable uses and applications: from miner cap lamps to any large standby power and motive power application. Compared with other types of rechargeable batteries, NiCd batteries offer good cycle life and performance at low temperatures with a fair capacity and a quite long life expectancy.

Vented Pocket Plate Batteries

As a frequently-requested battery, Alkaline Batteries have a huge range of applications such as vented pocket plates, aircrafts, railways, and so much more. Explore our battery ranges for more information.

Aircraft Batteries

The main characteristics of Interberg’s  XAG range NiCd Aircraft Batteries are : a big power density, combined with an outstanding energy density, which enables the battery to have a excellent good performance with high discharge currents under a extremely low internal resistance which does also contribute to a exceptionally long service life, thanks, also, to the proven high mechanical strength. Interberg’s XAG range of NiCd aircraft battery is, clearly, the best choice for operation under the widest temperature range for: on-board emergency power supply, DC power supply for communication equipment, operation of instruments or starting purpose.

Railway NiCd Batteries

The NCR range Nickel-Cadmium Railway batteries are the best option for both “on board” applications (energy storage in locomotives, trains, wagons and tramways, diesel engine starting, lighting and air-conditioning…) and fixed railway (stationary) installations, like railway signaling and switching stations., emergency power supply in railway stations, rail telecommunications, etc.)

Maintenance Free Valve Regulated NiCd Batteries

KGL (low rate) and KGM ( medium rate) range batteries are Valve Regulated and maintenance-free, as there is no need to add water throughout the service life of the battery (strictly following the manufacturer’s operation instructions). Servicing required is minimal and just a preventative maintenance will be needed. Water use and gas emissions are drastically reduced due to the more than 90% (exceeding requirements of IEC 62259).
