The Lithium Iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery, also called LFP battery (with "LFP" standing for "lithium iron-phosphate"), is a type of rechargeable battery, specifically a lithium-ion battery that uses LiFePo4 as a cathode material. LiFePO4 batteries offer longer lifetimes, better power density (the rate that energy can be drawn from them) and are inherently safer than other lithium battery technologies.

LiFePo4 batteries are intrinsically safe. Interberg offers two different ranges of LiFePO4 batteries for two differentiated applications: LFV and LFS ranges. LFV range batteries were specifically developed for the operation of electrical vehicles (bicycles, motorcycles, cars, vans, trucks, buses, utility vehicles, neighbourhood vehicles,...) LFS range batteries are a special variety of the LiFePO4 battery that has been conceived and developed for the use in stand-alone (off-grid) renewable energy (solar, wind or hybrid wind-solar) installations.
